Pre-Requisite Requirements

 

Due to COVID restrictions, it is recommended that candidates wear face masks in all communal areas.

Before attending this training, delegates must have successfully completed a First Aid course and hold a current accredited certificate.  Please be advised that a copy of the First Aid certification will need to be provided to Intertrain prior to the day of the training or brought to the course and shown to the trainer at the start of the course. If no certification is provided, candidate will not be eligible to attend the course. 

It is the Sponsors responsibility to ensure candidates booked onto the course are eligible for the training they are to receive and in line with any relevant medical level or restriction that may apply, in accordance with NR/L2/OHS/00124 Competence Specific Fitness Medical Requirements.

Please be aware that candidates will be treated on a training event as if they are at work and they must comply with the relevant medical policy and bring their Sentinel Smartcard which will be swiped at the start of the course.

Must be over 18 years of age.

Must have had at least three months workplace experience in an OLE Maintenance team or had relevant experience in an OLE Construction team

Must bring NR/SP/ELP/29987 Working on or Around 25kV AC Electrified lines

Meet the medical requirements of Network Rail Standard NR/L2/OHS/00124 Competence Specific Fitness Medical Requirements to minimum medical level 4 plus Network Rail Standard NR/L1/OHS/051 (Drugs & Alcohol).

Must bring valid Sentinel Smartcard endorsed with valid PTS and Authorised Person competencies.  Please be advised that the competency can only be recertified if it is valid or within the 8 week grace period

Must bring their logbook endorsed with a minimum of 4 signed entries since last relevant training event.

Possess adequate written and verbal communication skills in English, to a level necessary to avoid danger

Full PPE Visibility clothing to RIS-3279-TOM standard (upper and lower body), hard hat, Safety boots with full ankle/mid-sole protection/steel cap toes, gloves and safety glasses.

Photo ID - For British Nationals, one of the following: a current and valid branded form of identity token, used for accessing the RMI (Railway Maintained Infrastructure) such as a Sentinel Card; in-date and valid full driving licence; in-date and valid UK Provisional Photo Card Driving Licence; in-date and valid passport, biometric ID Card, resident permit as per Home Office guidance or 'ValIDate' card.  

For Non-British Nationals - an in-date and valid passport is required.

Overview

 

This module is designed recertify Level B (Authorised) persons who are responsible for working under direction of the Level A (Nominated) Person to achieve isolations on AC OLE in their daily work.

The aim of the course is to instruct delegates how to determine and fulfil their role and responsibilities when undertaking Level B (Authorised) person's duties and is designed to ensure delegates are fully aware of the dangers that can arise in the course of Level B (Authorised) person's duties.
