Pre-Requisite Requirements

This is a classroom based one day course. Delegates are required to complete the full course to be eligible for certification and must arrive in good time to start the course. In the event that individuals are late arriving, they may be excluded from the event and the full fee will be charged.

This refresher course is only for delegates who have previously passed the two-day Site supervision safety training scheme (SSSTS) course and can provide proof of successful attendance. Failure to attend the refresher course prior to the expiry of an existing certificate will require the delegate to re-enter the scheme by completing the full Site supervision safety training scheme (SSSTS) course if they wish to remain in the scheme.

Delegates attending this course must have sufficient command of English language both written and verbal at site supervisor level to allow delegates to address the assessment requirements of the qualification. Please advise of any special needs i.e. Dyslexia in advance of the course.

The workbook will be handed out to delegates at the start of the course.

Candidates are recommended to wear smart casual clothing. Candidates are asked to bring their CSCS Card Number and their National Insurance Number. Candidates may also wish to bring an assortment of their own pens, pencils and highlighters.

A copy of the Delegate Information Form will be issued to candidates during the course. Please ensure this is completed in full prior to the last day of the course and handed to the trainer. Please note that delegates must have a valid individual email address that is unique to the delegate. Group email addresses are not acceptable.

All delegates are required to show photographic identification to the trainer, such as a passport, driving license, or work ID. You will not be permitted to sit your exam without photographic proof of ID. If you have any queries on this, please contact us before your course.

The trainer will conduct an exam with all delegates at the end of the course. The exam lasts for 30 minutes and delegates are permitted to refer to the supporting publication, Construction site safety (GE706), during the last 10 minutes of the examination period. The pass mark is 80% (24 questions out of 30). Delegates would be eligible for a resit should they achieve a mark between 70-77% (21, 22 or 23 out of 30). Only one attempt of a resit is allowed and may take place on the same day or by attending the final day of another course within a 90 day period. If a delegate fails the resit, they must take the whole course again. Any delegate scoring less than 67% (20 out of 30) will fail the final exam and must sit the whole course again.

If you are a CITB levy payer please provide your 7 digit levy number.

Lunch is not provided on the course, however, complimentary tea and coffee will be provided throughout the day. You’re welcome to bring your own lunch; welfare facilities are available. You will also be made aware of local food outlets on the day.
