Pre-Requisite Requirements

 


Candidates attending this course must have sufficient command of English language both written and verbal to allow candidates to address the assessment requirements of the qualification. Please advise of any special needs i.e. Dyslexia in advance of the course.

This is a five-day course. Candidates are required to complete the full course to be eligible for certification. The certificate should be forwarded within 6 weeks.

All candidates are required to bring photographic identification to the course, such as a passport, driving license, or work ID. You will not be permitted to sit your exam without photographic proof of ID. If you have any queries on this, please contact us before your course.

Please ensure that candidates arrive in good time for the start of the course. In the event that individuals arrive after the stated start time, they may be excluded from the event and the full fee will be charged.

Candidates are recommended to wear smart casual clothing. Candidates are asked to bring their CSCS Card Number and their National Insurance Number. Candidates may also wish to bring an assortment of their own pens, pencils and highlighters.

Lunch is not provided on the course, however, complimentary tea and coffee will be provided throughout the day. You’re welcome to bring your own lunch; welfare facilities are available. You will also be made aware of local food outlets on the day.

Overview

The Site management safety training scheme (SMSTS) is a five-day course designed for site managers, or aspiring site managers. It is designed for those with responsibility for managing, monitoring, implementing and reporting in a construction environment. The course covers relevant health, safety and environmental legislation affecting safe working in the building, construction and civil engineering industries.

It highlights the need for risk assessment in the workplace, the implementation of the necessary control measures, and adequate communication to sustain a health and safety culture among the workforce.

The SMSTS course is endorsed by Build UK as the standard training for all construction managers.
